Maybelline Colorshow Lipsticks in Nude Mocha + True Toffee

It was a payday shopping day for me yesterday!
This past few days I was hopping around beauty selling sites to scout for some tube of lipstick which I was planning to buy. I do have some Zalora credits on my account and some items on my cart which I picked a few weeks ago. But, I was hesitant to use my credits thinking I might get some more items I needed. So, I decided to buy items I wanted in the physical store using cash. And, because it was payday and a Wednesday too, I purchased items from SM City Olongapo which gave me 10% off the total with the minimum of P2,000 purchase.

I went to the home section, to women's and down to Watson's area were make-ups and toiletries are located and that was my last pit stop from last night.

I am excited about these new tubes of lipstick I got from Maybelline. After several swatches of the tester items. I decided to get the Maybelline Colorshow collection in #305 Nude Mocha and #301 True Toffee. This is the shade of colors in season right now.

You see those creamy nice colors? Yep, they are truly nice to look at. They look yummy! lol

I made swatches to compare and the one on the top is the True Toffee shade and Nude Mocha was at the bottom.

I couldn't resist to apply it on my lips last night though I look so tired! I took some selfies using a filter camera app to lighten my skin...I don't want to present my haggard-looking face while testing out some beautiful shades of lipstick, haha!

As you can see I split the application of the two lipstick. The one in the left-facing you are the Nude Mocha and in the right the True Toffee shade.

Also, I chose the Nude Mocha shade for my lip color this morning at work and it looks exactly the same as the color in the tube as to when applied to the lips.

I am a Maybelline user, I still have a few of the lipsticks I own from a beauty blogger from the Rebel Bouquet selection unopened. I am saving a few of those in case I need some shade of pink to red in the future. For a friendly price of Php 175.00 per tube of Maybelline Colorshow, I can say this is the most affordable, over the counter brand of lipstick which everyone can avail. It is creamy, glides perfectly, the color stays for hours though it is not a kiss-proof lipstick.  Maybelline Colorshow collection does have a good selection of shade one can choose from.
Btw, you need to excuse my eye make-up from this photo. I can never do justice with lashes because mine is so thin and sparse. I need to find the best eyelash serum product in the market for me to try on. I am positive it will give me that added lashes I dreamt of!

I spent a little with the brand I like and made my self smile. :)

Have you tried any shade from the collection, how was the experience? Check out the comment section below and let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Two Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Shade Comparison

Girls can have enough of lipstick tubes and shades!
We love opening a tube of lipstick from our favorite brands in the market. Weeks ago I was tempted to open not just one tube but two from my make-up stockpile.
These Maybelline Rebel tubes were from an online prize which I won months ago (find it here)
I won a total of 11 shades in one prize, some shades were sent in double so I decided to give them away to family and friends. And I was left with several more tubes.
Swatched single coat of the two shade
Double shade color

REB04 above and REB09 below.
Maybelline Bouquet REB04 is a little orangey-pink shade, it has a dark-pigmented color, a little striking too. It can be worn at daytime since it can be matched in any daywear outfit.

Maybelline Bouquet REB09 below shade is a little darker than REB04, It is in the shade of red which can be very striking and best worn at night time. I prefer darker shades when going out at night. It gives that warmer and sophisticated look when worn at night. It is so pigmented that the color stays for hours.

I love both of the shades... it's playful and dramatic at the same Between the two, which shade would you prefer?

How To Get Rid of Dark Circles Using Red Lipstick Technique

Ohh...the dreaded dark circles around your eyes that go with aging.
I've done my research on how to get rid of dark circles and found many promising products. I also came across this article from Good HouseKeeping, and I tried it.

The red lipstick technique to get rid of those dark circles around your eyes including those dark blemishes and dark spots from the chemical and physical causes.
Collage photo of the before and after the red lipstick technique.

Please forgive my no makeup, no-filter and not so good looking morning selfie!
(Another photo of not-so-good selfie up next... haha!). A few years back dark spots and hyperpigmentation started to appear around my cheekbone, on the side of my nose and some on my forehead. The genes plus the aging which we cannot stop, but I always believe that one can have it slowed down. There are a lot of ways; temporary or even have your skin go on a procedure.
For this red lipstick technique, I used my Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Creme on the shade of Wine with Everything No.525. Since I rarely use it as a lipstick why not use it for this technique. This is my first time to try this technique so don't hate, please!

The next selfie- it's not even Halloween I know... apologies! haha.
Using my extra makeup brush I blotted the area around my eyes including the dark spots, pimple marks and even hyperpigmented spots all over my face. I did not go drastically as what I've seen from others who tried this technique because frankly, I do find it weird to blot my face with red lipstick or lipstick around the eyes. At first, it looked like I am painting my eyes with clown-makeup but it really works wonder.

After a thin layer of Revlon 525 shade, I applied Etude House BB cream cotton fit with spf30 covering the entire layer of red lipstick and I did my usual morning routine makeup. This video by Deepica Mutyala explains everything about this technique. You can check the full version of what I was trying to copy. :)
Eyebrow: Crayon-touch Me, Avon 12-in-1 eye palette, Shawill mascara in black.
Cheek: Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess soft matte bronzer.
Lips: Maybelline Rebel Bouquet by Colorsensational  REB06

My no-filter selfie after the red lipstick technique. I can say that it worked.. just to practice more to get the perfect blend and use concealer next time as what the professional beauty vloggers advised. I need to work on next time those puffy eye bags for another beauty hack edition here on bitsenpieces.
The result using this technique wearing my light-everyday makeup look for work. I hope you got something out of it. :)
Thank you for reading.
