We have this notion that eating healthy food is expensive. That is true for some, but there are ways that you can maximize your budget and yet, get the best quality food. You just have to stick to these rules:
- Make a meal plan
- Stick to your budget
- Do substitutes
- Cook your own food (cook in bulk quantity)
- Pack your meals to the office or school
- Know what is junk foods
- Go to the flea or local market to buy produce
Fresh produce from the market which costs way cheaper than buying from the grocery. All these for $11 (Php510), I was able to buy fruits and vegetables I can use for juicing and cooking.
All the above mentioned are all self-explanatory, food preparation is the KEY to HEALTHY EATING. This will save you money to buy other necessities at home. And, you are sure that you and your family are getting the best- nutritious food in the market.

I really love munching on peanuts, I decided to buy organic raw nuts and roast it at home. I combined almonds, pumpkin, sunflower, peanuts, and raisins to make my own version of trail mix, less the chocolates of course!
Roasting nuts can consume your time but it is all worth-it knowing how clean and you can maximize the roasting time according to your preference.

Homemade organic peanut butter with roasted milled flaxseed with olive oil.
I replaced the commercialized peanut butter we used to buy at the grocery to this homemade peanut butter. It took some time to get used to the taste but eventually we are loving it. On bread spread and even for all peanut butter sauces needed for cooking.
