Going Blonde for a Hair Color

I convinced myself to go something bold for hair color and again DIY'ing my hair color is the practical and money-saving move I always go for.

For today's post, I will be featuring this brand of hair color that I got from Watsons, LifeStrong Hairfix hair coloring shampoo in the shade of Platinum Blond for $1.40/Php69 per pack. It says in the packaging that it is enriched with olive oil extract. LifeStrong Hairfix Platinum Blond Hair Coloring Shampoo claims to give a vibrant color to your hair.

I was intrigued by the easy 4-steps process. The package includes; hair coloring shampoo and two (2) disposal gloves.

Direction for use:

  1. Unpack and cut the Hair Coloring Shampoo Sachet in the corner. Wear the gloves provided and squeeze contents into palm and mix.
  2. Apply the mixture evenly on your slightly wet hair. Then massage the hair from the roots to tip until it lathers. Avoid contact with eyes.
  3. Keep it on your hair for 20-25 minutes.
  4. Add a small amount of water into hair until it lathers. Rinse it with water.

Check out the video I made using LifeStrong Hairfix hair coloring shampoo below:

My verdict using the product:
In the true sense of reality versus expectations, this is a good example of this. I was expecting a bigger and bold change when I applied the hair colorant knowing that my hair with a slightly dark brown color. That is why I believe that the color shade was a fail.

After a week of applying the hair color, it starting to show-off a more vibrant shade and I am beginning to like it.

About the application of the product, I find it so easy, no-mess and it did not leave any color stains to my scalp and skin which was a plus factor. The scent was not that strong too unlike other hair colorants I've used which have a strong ammonia scent.

Although it was a fail expected color I am beginning to like it.

What do you think about my DIY hair color?

Mother's Day is just Around the Corner

***This is a sponsored post, this article is written by me, opinions and views are 100% mine.

The day is passing by so fast, Valentines Day just went by so quickly and in just a few months, Mother's Day is almost here!

With all the flowers, chocolates and dinner treat for our family and special someone, we are now again, focused with one of the best people in our lives, our Mother! The word Mother comes in many different words, in many different languages and dialects.
Mom, Mum, Mommy, Ma, Nanay, Ina, Inay, and a lot more to mention.
"Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in March or May."

This person also comes in many different personas, a mother does not only apply to that biological person who bears you throughout the pregnancy but also to the psychological aspect of being a mother. A person you can rely on and be your confidant. The mother figures no matter what gender it possesses.

One way to show our gratitude and love to our dearest Moms is by sending or even personally giving them some gifts. As a Mom myself, simple gestures such as flowers can mean a lot to me, those vibrant and colorful bunch of flowers can make a big difference in this celebration. Because flowers are worldwide available and with the technology nowadays, you can order or even locate the nearest flower delivery service in your locality. There are a lot of mobile applications or you can search the internet where you can key in, eg. "best NYC florist" and everything is there, and also payments can be easily transacted too!

There is no way or any excuse for you not to remember your Mom this coming Mother's Day, show them how you appreciate and remember them by sending them flowers.

More Mother's Day tips to come...

xoxo

What is an Ideal and Practical Gift for Women?

***This is a sponsored post, this article is written by me, opinions and views are 100% mine.

February is love month out of the months of the whole year this is the month that we mostly celebrate love for family, friends, and our dearest ones. How did you celebrate Valentine's Day? Was this Valentine's day extra special?

Across different platforms of social media Valentine's day was celebrated from the simplest to an extravagant way of celebrating. Flowers in bouquet arrangements, chocolates, clothes, and jewelry were posted online.

Here is one photo of the grandest and biggest bouquet of roses received as a hearts day gift. Grand right?

Some celebrated hearts day by pampering themselves and treating themself to a spa or a relaxing getaway to shopping. Among the ladies who are reading this, which do you prefer for a gift to someone or yourself?

Being practical, I am into self-care, giving myself a treat or something special for myself. As a Mom, the most typical things I can consider as a treat is buying some pieces of clothes or even a new set of undergarments or lingerie. Yes, you heard it right undergarments!
Feeling good and looking good can make a woman start their day right. Confidence and self-esteem can make a woman powerful in her own right.
No matter what body shape a woman has nothing compares to a new set of undergarments that she can wear underneath her everyday clothing.

Personally, going to the stores to find pieces of a plus-size body shaper can be a little difficult moreover when you are shopping in an Asian store.

The best way is to go online, there are a lot of trusted stores on the internet which cater to different sizes and most especially different styles. When I checked this site, Loverbeauty, I was fascinated with the designs and styles. I spent hours scrolling down their pages and everything looks promising and beautiful.

From hiphugger bodysuit shapewear to boyleg full body shaper to a more defined and specific shaper panty, I found their pieces look stylishly comfortable, feminine and durable. I would love to own some pieces from their collection. The above photos are my pick!

I have not bought anything from their store but I am considering.

Mother's day is just around the corner and you might want to treat your wife or your mother with some new set of undergarments?

Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong

***This is a sponsored post, this article is written by me, opinions and views are 100% mine.

There is this television series that I saw streaming online about surgery gone wrong. The show presents cases of patients who underwent plastic surgery that went wrong and seeking reconstructive surgery to this group of doctors. Most of the cases presented in the series are mishandled cases of the previous plastic surgeon that made the procedure and eventually, facial deformities became evident.
On my initial reaction, I was shocked by how a person suffered emotionally and physically ridicule of the public. Not being judgmental in a way, people can be rude sometimes because once you see someone in the street that looks odd or has something different especially in their facial structure one will glance and will take that second look, without knowing what happened.

After watching one episode I went to do some readings and learn more.

What is cosmetic surgery?
Cosmetic Surgery: Focused on Enhancing AppearanceThe procedures, techniques, and principles of cosmetic surgery are entirely focused on enhancing a patient’s appearance. Improving aesthetic appeal, symmetry, and proportion are the key goals. Aesthetic surgery can be performed on all areas of the head, neck, and body. Since cosmetic procedures treat areas that function properly, cosmetic surgery is designated as elective. Cosmetic elective procedures are performed by doctors from a variety of medical fields, including plastic surgeons.Types of Cosmetic Surgery Procedures:
  • Breast Enhancement: Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift, Breast Reduction
  • Facial Contouring: Rhinoplasty, Chin, or Cheek Enhancement
  • Facial Rejuvenation: Facelift, Eyelid Lift, Neck Lift, Brow Lift
  • Body Contouring: Tummy Tuck, Liposuction, Gynecomastia Treatment
  • Skin Rejuvenation: Laser Resurfacing, Botox®, Filler Treatments
What is plastic surgery?

Plastic Surgery: Focused on Repairing Defects to Reconstruct a Normal Function & AppearancePlastic surgery is defined as a surgical specialty dedicated to reconstruction of facial and body defects due to birth disorders, trauma, burns, and disease. Plastic surgery is intended to correct dysfunctional areas of the body and is, by definition, reconstructive in nature. While many plastic surgeons choose to complete additional training and perform cosmetic surgery as well, the basis of their surgical training remains reconstructive plastic surgery. In fact, in 1999, the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons changed its name to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons to more strongly communicate the message that “plastic and reconstructive surgeons are one and the same.”¹Types of Plastic Surgery Procedures:
  • Breast Reconstruction
  • Burn Repair Surgery
  • Congenital Defect Repair: Cleft Palate, Extremity Defect Repair
  • Lower Extremity Reconstruction
  • Hand Surgery
  • Scar Revision Surgery

The scope that a patient can benefit in considering plastic surgery procedure:
  1. Enhance self-confidence and self-esteem
  2. Improving appearance
  3. Young looking and positive outlook in life

Is plastic surgery safe? This might be the major factor for a patient who wishes to undergo surgery.

Surgery can go wrong and unsafe when you bend the rules in medicine.

Always consider the following when undergoing a surgery procedure:

Consult a licensed doctor to will make your procedure. This will be the main factor for a successful surgery. A professional plastic surgeon went to rigorous study and experience in his specialization.

Study the procedure, you need to know what and how the surgery will be done to you. Knowledge of the procedure can give you an idea and maybe the key to fast recovery.

Financial capability, undergoing surgery means expenses. From the doctor's professional fees, hospitalization and also days of your recovery.

Family and friends support when someone undergoes medical confinement and procedure family and friends support is an essential part of recovery. Going through the phase of healing and getting back on track once you are checked-in and being discharged in the hospital requires family or friends support. You couldn't drive alone when you are discharged from the hospital or getting-by around the house will all the bandages and medication assistance.

Make a firm decision! You cannot ask the doctor to stop in the middle of the procedure because you change mind although you are under anesthesia. :)

What are your views and opinions about plastic and cosmetic surgery?

Car Repair and Services Can Be Done at Home with RepairSmith

***This is a sponsored post, this article is written by me, opinions and views are 100% mine.

Our time is mostly occupied with everything around us, although there are many ways to plan and organize your time and schedule there are times that the time you have is so limited. As a working Mom, I can relate to this! As much as I wanted to have things done on time, it is sometimes impossible and I know you all will agree to this. Thankfully, some things you need can be done in just a few taps on your phone. From food delivery services to medicine and now car services can be provided easily.

Let me focus on this one area that I always find it very tedious to deal with when our vehicle dies down all of a sudden. This area is my Achilles heel and my stress level would reach its peak when it comes to car repairs. I remember one time I need to drop off the kids to school and pick them up in the afternoon and drive them to their sports practice our car did not start. All I have that time was two kids complaining and a non-working car, I can't imagine things not done on time and making the kids upset about the situation.

My weakest point in an area where I couldn't process quick, but thankfully, there is this car service that can tend to my emergency car needs in an instant. I found one car repair service in my area and they are offering home service.

RepairSmith offers repair and car maintenance. They repair directly to your driveways or if needed they can service your vehicle in the nearest service shop located in your area.

More about this company's services:

  • 7 Days a week service availability

Currently, RepairSmith services the Greater Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, as well as the Bay Area and Sacramento. And, they have plans to roll out to other major cities this year.

THINGS I CONSIDER WHEN GETTING A SERVICE

As a Mom, the most basic thing I consider of getting any service I need is the budget. I cannot go over-board budget-wise. Although, I can budget on car maintenance which is very much needed when it comes to sudden car repairs and services can drain the budget. So picking what is best and matches one's budget is necessary.

Consider customer feedback, this is where you can get a reliable source for service.

Consider that services can be done within your location, convenience is the key especially for busy Moms like us.

Fast service, you wouldn't want to wait for hours and hours for the service you need.

Based on what I saw on RepairSmith's website they provide these things.
So next time I'd be needing any car service fast and convenient I will surely try RepairSmith!

Have you tried their service before? Let me know your story.
