Have you ever heard of the saying, “We eat with our eyes?” This is very true right now especially since there are a lot of photographs that are being shared through social media. There are some people who spend a long time scrolling on the different food that they can eat. Once they see a few that they like, that is the only time when they would research about the restaurant and the other food on the menu.

The fact that people have smartphones now make it easy for them to take amazing photos of their food. They take pictures of food that are cleverly presented and they share it with their friends. When their friends see the photos, and they hear that the food is good, they would also try out the restaurant.

How can you use food photography for your email marketing? It is simple - you just need to add the images of your food to the emails that you send to your subscribers. Sooner or later, they will feel the need to actually visit your restaurant and try the food that looked so good in photos and hopefully in real life too. When people eat, they use 4 out of their 5 senses. This explains why eating a good plate of food can be gastronomical for some people.

Here are some tips on how you can take amazing photographs that you can include in your email:

  • Allow the food to be the main point of the shot. You may think that you want the food to be seen amidst the interior of the restaurant that you are also trying to show off. It’s either one or the other. If you want the food to be the “star,” then take a picture of it without competing with the restaurant’s interior. You can take a separate photograph of the restaurant’s interior if needed.
  • You can send pictures of the ingredients that you use in a more artistic manner. There are some people who associate ingredients with health. The more artistic the shots are, the better it would be.
  • Show off the presentation of your food. Some people visit restaurants not only because of the taste of the food but because of how the food looks like. Make the appearance of the food great so that people will visit.

Allow your food products and your restaurant get more exposure with the use of food photography.
