6 Awesome Vintage Wedding Theme Ideas to Inspire You

Getting married is one of the most important days of your life. It requires a great deal of planning and often a considerable budget. However, it is now possible to get married virtually anywhere; this has enabled people to get married in the most magnificent of surroundings and to enjoy a theme for their wedding.
Of course, deciding a theme that you and your partner like can be difficult; especially if you want your guests to partake as well.

That’s why vintage weddings have become so popular; they can look stunning and keep everyone happy. If you do decide to go with a vintage theme, then you’ll need to allow some of your budget for the best Vintage cars in Sydney. It’s surprising how much difference the right car can make to the look and feel of your special day.

1. Rustic Barn
All you need is an old barn and a little imagination. Tables covered in lace cloths will complement a chaise lounge with Mr. & Mrs. Cushions. Chandeliers hanging from the rafters can create the right ambiance while the walls can be covered with old-style pictures in golden frames.

You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time!

2. Period Wedding

Get specific by choosing a period, such as the 1940s or ’50s. This gives you a point of reference and allows all your guests to look up the right attire online. The great thing about choosing a specific period is you can pick and choose the details you like to male your wedding really personal.

The pictures should also look amazing; as though someone has taken pictures of a wedding taken many years ago.

3. Beach

You can opt for a modern style beach setting or you can take the beach back a few years!

All you need is weathered wood benches, a selection of pastel colors and a nice lawn overlooking the beach. Add in a vintage style flower covered arch and you’ll have a picture perfect vintage beach wedding. Bikinis will be optional.

4. The Country Garden

Take a leaf out of the traditional English garden and set up small tables as though it’s time for afternoon tea. You may even want to include this is on our special day.

It’s best to choose cream, white and even some gentle blues to create the right balance of color. You can always take it up a notch by adding in gold vases and even chairs!

5. Go Big

If you’ve ever seen The Great Gatsby you’ll know just how decadent you can make a room appear. You’ll need to take your inspiration from the 1920’s and add art décor across the room. Gold and white will be the primary colors as you create a theme that screams fun and frivolity.

Jazz music and traditional cocktails will really finish the theme perfectly.

6. Glam It Up

Move to the middle of the 20th century and you’ll find that glam was the only style worth considering.

You’ll need to focus on white and purple with a lace dress and plenty of antiques; suggesting the opulence of this period. A crystal chandelier can really help to bring the vintage and glam together.

Just don’t forget to add the pearls and the feathers.

Bask under the glorious Palawan sun with the first of its kind Avara Nature & Yacht Club
Experience serene, luxurious seaside living in Taytay, Palawan

A glimpse of a seaside living redefined through Avara.

Nov. 13, 2018 (MANILA) – Imagine this: The sound of waves crashing on the shore and the sunlight peeking through the window wake you up on a lazy Saturday morning. You slowly open your eyes, afraid that you’re just in the middle of a dream. But you’re not. You stand up as you feel the gentle sea breeze touch your face. You go out of the porch and look at the horizon. You take your time to enjoy the beauty of the blue skies and the deep sea. The yacht will be waiting for you whenever you’re ready, anyway. That’s the promise of Avara Nature & Yacht Club—the easy life of the seaside.

Airdance group and Filipina harpist Avonlea Paraiso wow the Avara guests with their performances.

Established by the Seaside Premier Development Corporation, Avara is the first of its kind nature and yacht club located at Calauag Bay in Taytay, which was Palawan’s first capital.

The Avara Balanghai designed and created by Master Sculptor Rey Paz Contreras.

The plan for the exclusive resort was formally unveiled at the Grand Hyatt Manila led by its President and CEO Ms. Veronica C. Young.

“After many months of sailing and voyaging aboard bangkas and riding waves, we found the perfect island in Taytay, Palawan to be the home of our pioneering project. It is with a great pleasure to present to you tonight, Avara Nature and Yacht Club - the first of its kind in the Philippines, bridging the middle class to the lifestyle of the rich and famous. As Seaside Premier Development Corporation’s flagship project, we aim to redefine seaside living, where nature meets luxury,” she said in her opening remarks.

Coastal living redefined

Avara, which means Sunshine Island, is an eco-luxurious resort that uses solar panels as a source of renewable energy, utilizes a recycled water treatment system, maximizes a hydroponic garden, and takes advantage of other eco-materials available.

Its accommodation is inspired by the Maldivian architecture. Members can choose to stay in a one-bedroom Water Villa with jacuzzi, two-bedroom Water Villa with private infinity pool, or one- or two-bedroom Beach Casitas.

Aside from the villas and casitas, Avara members will also have an exclusive access to a two-bedroom yacht with crew for an overnight stay or for cruising around the island and nearby areas. Avara’s yacht features two cabins and a family room in the lower deck; a living room, a kitchen and dining area, and a plunge pool in the main deck; and an open dining space and a sun deck in the flybridge.

Avara Island has nothing but the best facilities for its members. Guests will first experience the Avara service upon their arrival at the dock or the harbor. But the ultra-luxurious resort also has a helipad for those who will be coming in by air. VIPs also have the option to skip the reception and go straight to their accommodation.

There will also be a boardwalk open for development to entrepreneurial Avara member. Meaning, Avara members can also be concessionaires to open their own business—it could be a coffee shop, a grocery store, a bakery, a souvenir shop, and similar ventures. As a support to the member-concessionaires, Avara will ensure that the business will be the island’s lone supplier for the specific product.

The island can also accommodate as many as 100 guests at their main dining area and at the grill restaurant. But guests will have more dining options since Avara includes a poolside bar, a seaside bar and lounge, picnic areas, and private dining venues.

Avara is fully equipped with a gym, a water sports center, a tennis court, and a golf course to those who want to keep up with their fitness routine.

The island also has a playroom and nursery, spa and massage cabanas, a bonfire area, a clinic with an in-house doctor and nurse, and a gaming area for the enjoyment of the Avara members.

At any given time, Avara will host up to 300 members to ensure quality service.

As a promised paradise for those who love the beach, Avara offers a myriad of water activities such as diving, snorkeling, kayaking, jet-skiing, banana boat riding, stand-up paddle boarding, windsurfing, scuba diving, island hopping, and fishing in coordination with neighbor islands. The resort also provides options for on land activities like trekking, biking, and vegetable picking.

There are also a lot of activities that Avara members can enjoy outside its vicinity. After all, Taytay, Palawan boasts of picturesque sites like the Canique Waterfalls, the Lake Manguao, the Irrawaddy Dolphins in Malampaya Sound, the Fuerza de Santa Isabel, and the Church of Santa Monica. Taytay is also hoping to a paradise-like hidden valley that gives tourists a bird’s eye view of the pristine, idyllic coastal areas of the municipality.

Stylish Prescription Eyeglasses for my Mom!

A few days ago my mother complains of a headache and dizziness at the same time, although she is in her senior years and with maintenance medication, also she wears stylish prescription eyeglasses for years now. I had her eyes checked again, although it is months earlier than here schedule for next year I encouraged her to have eye refraction just to be sure about the symptoms she been dealing with.

We visited this new eye store across my office area, had her eye refracted and my hint was right. Her eye vision increases to another 50 in each eye, that is why there are times I can see here squinting and has watery eyes at times. She was also diagnosed with developing cataract and suggested that she can consult an eye doctor to further check the status and condition of her eye.

The optometrist suggested a new lens for both her eyes and a new frame that can go along with the new pair of lenses. I asked the doctor if she can still use the same frame and replace the new lens. She explains further that due to wear and tear of the frame, it might now hold properly the new lens and with that we need to sign a waiver, limiting us to ask for warranty and replacement. At some point, I was convinced and agreed to get the whole set of eyeglasses with the prescribed lens.

We were asked by the sale staff to pick the style my mother wants and with all the cute glasses available at that time it was hard to pick! Although the budget was a considered factor, we still manage to pick the average price according to our budget and the style she picked was in the line of crystal cat eyeglasses

Here are some of the style from an online shop Voogueme that somehow resembled when we were picking and fitting the glasses. These are the cutest and trendiest looking styles for eyeglasses, makes me want to replace my current prescription glasses frame to one of this! 😉
Sarah Rectangle Tortoise Eyeglasses

Kelly Affordable Leopard Half Frame Cateye
Hedy Tortoise Elegant Oversized Cat Eyeglasses

What can you say about the style of each of the eyeglasses she picked? Personally, I love the last pair because it looks so sophisticated and the frame fits the shape of her face. I really give emphasis on the cheekbones and the arc of her eyebrows.

We need to return next week for her to check and fit the eyeglasses we ordered, and I am excited for her because she can see clearer.

Kick Bad Habits Out The Door With These Round-the-House Cleaning Kata’s

Your home is a host of battlegrounds and dirt is the common enemy attacking all fronts. Learn how to combat your negative, cleaning habits by practicing positive, cleaning-Kata’s and facing your enemy with new allies on the five most common household fronts: The Kitchen; The Living Room; The Bathroom; The Bedroom, and; The Laundry Room

High-Kick Your Kitchen Back Into Shape

The Enemies: Dirty Sponges, Hardened Drops and Wet Wooden Spoons

Dirty rags and sponges accumulate germs and bacteria when not cleaned daily. Drops and splashes of oils and sauces harden into damaging and disgusting stains. Wooden spoons and cutting boards crack under pressure and absorb detergent in the intense and heated moisture in your dishwasher

The Allies: Sponge Care and Replacement, Accessible Cleaning Solutions, Hand-To-Wood Cleaning Combat

The strongest enemy force in your battle for a clean kitchen is that nasty sponge. Replace it once a week and every day in-between, sterilize it by washing and rinsing it thoroughly then microwaving it for 60 seconds or putting it in your dishwasher. Also, make sure you store it in a sponge dish that has drainage so the water can evaporate and not build up excess mildew and germs.

Keep a glass container filled with water and ample dish soap handy. It will be your go-to weapon against splashes, stains, and spills while cooking…especially for your stove. As soon as you’re done cooking drip the soapy water over your range-top focusing on the most-assaulted areas. Remove grates, grills or burner items if necessary and soak them in the sink. Let the soapy water do its job for 10 minutes then rinse and wipe down with a soft, damp cloth.
Your wooden spoons and cutting boards need to be hand-washed. Use soap and hot water then allow the items to air-dry. To combat enemy stains or odors, rub a lemon on the items and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Let them sit for 20 minutes then rinse. You can also use heavier artillery such as a 400-grit (wet-dry) sandpaper to smooth over rough spots in the wood. Do some food-safe, follow-up recon by rubbing some mineral oil into the wood and wiping off the excess after a few minutes.

Power-Lift Your Living Room

The Enemies: Overused Rug Routes, Losing Control Of Remote Controls and Gritty Solutions

Your carpet’s piles get threaded on in the same directions every day and dirt digs in and sets up camp. Vacuum in different directions to keep dirt loose and more easily swept up. TV remotes and video game controllers are handled-by-hands every day and accumulate germs as fast as sponges. Alcohol and ammonia can not only be abrasive and scratch your TV and/or computer screens but if applied to a warm screen can leave permanent streaks.

The Allies: Change In Direction, Wiping and Swiping, The Magic of Microfiber

Vacuum your carpets in different directions to keep dirt loose and more easily swept up. Alternate starting and ending points every time you bring out the vacuum and go back over areas from cross-directional angles. This will draw out all enemy debris and make it easy to capture. Find out what are the best vacuum cleaners to make this task easier as well.

Wring out a strong, antibacterial wipe and use it to clean TV remotes and game controllers regularly. Use a Q-tip or makeup applicator to clean around buttons or crevices. Last, store the devices in a drawer or box to reduce dusty buildup.
Microfiber is a magical ally for defending against dirt and dust on even the most delicate of household battlegrounds. Wipe screens in longer strokes to avoid streaking. You can wet the cloth minimally –I repeat, “minimally” – to attack smudges. Never spray cleaners directly onto screens – there are no general products that are safe for that application. Try “Monster Flat Screen Clean” for $12 at monstercable.com as an additional ally if needed.

Box Your Bathroom Bacteria Into Submission

The Enemies: Wet Willies and Hideous Hooks

The toilet brush holder is a breeding ground for combatant bacteria. Multiple towels piled up on hooks don’t dry properly and give way to increased mildew and germs.

The Allies: Dry and Disposable Dropkicks, Full Metal Coatracks

There are toilet brushes out there with disposable heads. Honestly, it’s your best bet for keeping extra germs at bay around the toilet. If purchasing these is not an option you can also boil water and pour it on the brush while holding it over the toilet. Allow to air dry – OUTSIDE – before returning it to its normal location.

Towels need air to dry. Enemy mildew thrives in tight, moist spaces. Metal coatracks with multiple hooks are a great ally against mildewy buildup. You can also wash your towels in hot water with appropriate bleach to help kill excess germs.

Bouncing Your Bedroom

The Enemy: The Un-Cleaned Closet

Leaving your closet untended to can attract moths, bugs and also damage clothing and shoes.

The Ally: Operation Overhaul

Sometimes you have to do the dirty work. Take everything out of your closets at least once a year and apply standard cleaning protocol as you would every other area/room in your home. Shake off your clothing outside before returning them to the bars or racks, and dust off those shoes! You can also clean the soles of your shoes periodically to prevent nasty buildups from outside that you never want in your home).

Lunge at Your Laundry Room

The Enemy: Lazy Laundry Habits

Clothing left sitting in the washing machine can acquire mildew quite quickly. Laundry left sitting in the dryer will wrinkle.
The Allies: Efficient Timing and Extended Tumbles

Wash your clothing, towels, and sheets when you know you have time to immediately take them out of the machine. Run the empty washing machine on “hot” with white vinegar and bleach in the water once a week to help sterilize it. Most modern dryers allow for an extended tumble setting. Clothing will periodically be tumbled which helps prevent wrinkles if you can’t get right to the dryer when the 1st cycle completes. Use permanent press settings to further reduce wrinkles.
